SOUTH DAKOTA GELBVIEH ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Program
The South Dakota Gelbvieh Association has established a scholarship program to assist Junior members who plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a college or technical institute program in the state of South Dakota. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at any accredited South Dakota degree-granting institution of the student’s choice.
This scholarship is administered by the South Dakota Gelbvieh Association. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin.
Eligibility
An applicant to the South Dakota Gelbvieh Association Scholarship program must be:
1. A current member of the South Dakota Junior Gelbvieh Association and maintain membership should he/she be granted a scholarship.
2. A college bound high school senior planning to enroll in a full-time course of study and subsequently be accepted at an accredited South Dakota post-secondary institution; or a full-time college or technical school student who is currently studying at an accredited South Dakota post-secondary institution.
Application
Interested members must submit an application along with a current high school or college transcript and one recommendation letter. Applicants should answer all questions as completely as possible. Awards
Up to two $250.00 scholarships will be awarded per year.
Application Deadline:
Application packets must be completed by and sent by March 1 of the award year.
Payment of Scholarships
Payment of scholarships will be made to the recipient in both the students and the institution’s name on January 1st of the recipient’s post-secondary education.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, and contributions to the South Dakota Junior Gelbvieh Association. Announcement of the award winner will be at the Summer Spotlight Show.
